Frances Muir 

Soprano

Frances Muir is a soprano opera singer, currently based in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. She attended the University of Pretoria, South Africa, and completed her Bachelors in Music with distinction in 2017. ​In 2018, Frances made her opera debut as Zweite Knabe in Mozart's Die Zauberflöte at the Berlin Opera Academy, and First Dater (Julie) in Michael Ching's Speed Dating Tonight with the Taos Opera Institute. The following year, she returned to the Berlin Opera Academy and performed Ann Putnam in Robert Ward's The Crucible.

In 2020, Frances debuted Erste Dame in Mozart's Die Zauberflöte at the University of Pretoria's Music and Enrichment Festival. She also sang in opera scenes in the Monica Mhangwana Family fundraising concert; she performed Giulietta (Les contes d'Hoffmann) and Gilda (Rigoletto).

In September 2021, Frances graduated with her Masters in Music (Performing Art) with distinction. Following her academic achievements in 2021, Frances was invited into the Golden Key International Honour Society. She also has a Post Graduate Certificate in Education (PGCE) from the University of Sunderland 2022, specialising in secondary education in music and psychology. 

Most recently, Frances made her Estates Opera House debut when she performed Contessa Almaviva in Mozart's Le nozze di Figaro as a part of the Prague Summer Nights Festival. Currently she is scheduled to sing Leitmeritzerin (Der Rosenkavalier) and Olga (Die lustige Witwe) in 2023 with SittOpera. 

Frances is currently teaching and sharing her love of music in Dubai while singing as a soloist in concerts.
