British soprano Frances Suurd is a classically trained singer with performance experience spanning South Africa, Europe, the United States and the UAE. A graduate of the University of Pretoria with both a Bachelor of Music and Master of Music with distinction, Frances has performed roles including Contessa Almaviva in Le nozze di Figaro, Ann Putnam in The Crucible and Erste Dame in Die Zauberflöte.
After time spent away from the stage, she returned to professional performance in 2026 with Bizet's Carmen at Dubai Opera. Frances is continuing to pursue her operatic career, with forthcoming performances including Violetta in Verdi's La Traviata and soprano soloist in African Sanctus.
